The Prince was talking about the “Prime Directive” on Star Trek which has something to do with not interfering with cultures on other planets. Mama said George Bush should have studied that doctrine, and the Prince kind of smirked at that. (They don’t really agree on politics, and if the subject ever comes up, I try to divert everyone’s attention with some cute antics.) Anyway, I was thinking about the Prime Directive of a Havanese, and I think that ours is to
“Bring the Pack Together“. Whenever one of the pack comes home, I think it’s really important to go tell the others. The Prince came home tonight and was bringing in the garbage cans, so I went off and told Mama and Jane that he was home by barking my head off. I don’t really know why I think that’s so important, but it is!
