Political Endorsement

I hear from the Prince that he is planning to run for office. It seems he was appointed to his homeowners’ association board of directors, and now he has to stand for election. As my loyal fans know, I am the Prince’s biggest fan. But I’m not so sure about this homeowners’ board thing. First of all, he’s been gone several evenings when he should have been home with me and De De. I’ve been waiting around cooling my heels while he’s off attending board meetings. I don’t like it. And I’m used to having my Kong toys filled up with delicious goodies at about the time he’s gone! So, I think I will probably abstain or vote against his election. However, I should say that the Prince is a level-headed kind of guy, and he would probably make a pretty good board member, if that’s what you’re looking for. So I guess you can consider that a political endorsement, Havanese style.

Mea Culpa
Hello out there. My how time flies. Imagine allowing three months to go by before posting something on my site. Life has been going along more or less as normal. We got through the Saint Joseph Ballet concert season, finished school, and now are enjoying the summer. I still wake the Prince up at 5:30 a.m. or so, just to keep him on his toes. Don’t want him going soft during the summer.
The Prince is on a diet; he says he wants to lose 20 lbs. That is more than I weigh! I have been trying to encourge him to take De De on walks. She loves to go on walks, while I am sort of lukewarm to them. I don’t know why, probably it has something to do with De De’s excessive exuberance. Sometimes he drags me along with them, and once I get out there I do actuallty enjoy a walk. But don’t tell the Prince that, or he’ll shanghai me more often. Usually when he says the word “walk” I make myself scarce and that is enough to get me out of it.
Mama is working long hours. I try to accompany her as much as possible to make it easier for her. De De usually comes along but with Jane home (school’s out, remember?) she tends to stay downstairs with Jane . So I have the duty with Mama, which is fine. Mama and I get along great on our own, and I don’t have to worry about De De getting run over by Mama’s chair, which is always a potential disaster if De De is around. Jane calls her De De the daredevil dog. That is for sure! She never pays attention to her personal safety at all, whereas I am all about making sure I am safe. That’s just me…
